Campsite Watch ("we", "us") provides a campsite availability monitoring service. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, hashed password, authentication provider IDs (Apple/Google if you use social sign-in).
• Watch data: the campgrounds, dates, and filters you configure.
• Device data: push notification tokens (FCM for Android, APNs for iOS), platform, app version — used only to deliver notifications you opt into.
• Operational data: timestamps of availability checks, error logs, and IP addresses (retained 30 days).

How we use your data

• Deliver availability alerts by push notification and email.
• Authenticate your account and protect it from abuse.
• Operate and improve reliability of the service.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Third-party services

We rely on these providers strictly to operate the service:

• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — iOS push delivery.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — Android push delivery.
• Google Workspace SMTP relay — transactional email.
• UseDirect / ReserveCalifornia public APIs — to retrieve campsite availability.

Data retention

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, data is removed within 30 days. Push tokens and session tokens are purged on sign-out. Availability check history is pruned after 90 days.

Your rights

• Access / export: email [email protected] and we will return your data within 30 days.
• Delete: you can delete your account in-app (Account → Danger Zone) or by email.
• Opt out of push: disable notifications in Account → Notifications or in your device OS settings.

Children

Campsite Watch is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date.
